5.5 Gal stock

[Newbie Breeder]

I have a 5.5 gal tank, I have no plants in it. My dad will NOT let me get a bigger tank do not suggest this as I know it is better. I have 4 convicts and a crayfish that I am willing to get rid of to re-do this tank, I want some plant and fish suggestions, preferably colorful fish, I want at least 5 fish, if somebody could please advise me as to what fish and plants to get I would appreciate it very much.

A betta is colorful, and about the only fish that would be contempt in this environment.


Edit: Ive seen some small Beta planted tanks that are nicer looking then 100g+ tanks, it can be done, and it can be done well.

Keeping anything other than small fish in a 5 gallon is not practical. You could get a pair of kilifish or some guppies. Or a betta as that guy up there suggested. you can get some pretty nice fighting fish. Also think about invertebrates, as there are some wickedly colored shrimp and crayfish out there.

If you like any kind of pleco... you could go with a Clown or LDA025 or maybe a pair of ottos.

I'd say LDA025 out of the three. Clowns need wood and are lazy. Ottos are not very hardy.

I would get half a dozen guppies and 3 cory cats of your choice.
