Not exactly monster, but...
I want an aquarium at work, but I can't get anything bigger than 8g (apparently a previous faulty tank lead to this rule in the Company:().
I am looking for advice/suggestions on 5-8g aquariums/tanks.

My petstore doesn't have many, but they say if I can tell them a name they can probably order it in.

I am after one with a larger footprint as I am going with a pair/trio of shelldwellers (multis). So, please no tall cylinder/hexagons.

It needs to be glass, not acrylic (these fish love sand and it would constantly get scratched).

It needs to have a hood with lights; and have a place for a HOB filter and heater (or come with a respectible one(s)).

Thanks in advance!

go to petsmart they 2 and 3 gallon tanks. you could keep a couple ottos in it :D or maybe a ram

if you request a catalog from drs foster and smith. the magazine has a small 6 gal tank made buy Tetra and includes the tank, the hood with lights, filtration and filter media for 59.64 :D. hope that helps. they also have two 3 gal tanks that come with lights and filtration. one of them comes with a hood and the other doesnt.

id also reccommend getting a nice Eclypse system (3 to 6 gal tanks) that come with the lights, the hood and filtration.

as for fish, some guppies(red fire), tetras(rummynose), bettas or some nice cherry shrimp would be nice.

Goanna: that one is nice, it is currently being made by Aqueon I believe. I found the one Aqueon had, but they did not list a price. Your link is the cheapest I could find. Impressive! :D

iloveoscars702: I found that site, The 6g "water wonders" by tetra is a close second to the one Goanna found.

I am going to put a pair/trio of Neolamprologus multifasciatus to the tank. They need at least 5g for a pair.
Already have a nice tetra, danio, shrimp , plant 55g community at home. :D

I love how other people can find things that I miss when I am searching for something.

That just happened to be the first link I found to it. Probably cheap because it's the AGA branded one and not the new Aqueon brand, so they are trying to move it out.

I think those are all acrylic and he wants a glass tank.

the 6 gal Water Wonders tanks is glass, but i just read that the eclipse tank is acrylic.. so yeah :D

i got one of my friends a 6 gallon eclipse for his b-day (no, not stocked, but I got it ahead of time and fishless cycled it for him, aint i sweet?) and it did not scratch whatsoever with the tank that we had in it. It was sand from a river near my lakehouse and I could move it around without a single scratch. We actually took a screwdriver and tried to scratch the tank (up under the rim of course) and it took quite abit of effort to get a hairline scratch).
