5/8th air line spliter to normal tubing for pond master Supreme AP-40 Air Pump

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Look for a 5/8" plastic barb tee fitting at HD or Lowe's. Take the hose with you to be sure it fits your hose if you have it or they also sell it there.

You will also need to purchase an airline manifold for aquarium use to use standard airlines and reducer barbs to step down the hose size.

Ken's does sell a manifold that will hook up to that pump so consider buying that instead as it will save a lot of headaches.

What are you planning on running off this pump? It may be easier to make suggestions knowing what your plans are.

Thanks. It will be running only 2 lines to my fludized bed filter, to move my k1, down about 3 feet depending on how high my stand end up being. I went with this air pump simply because the replacment manifolds are cheap and is the perfect size for my application

Thanks! I'm not personally familiar with using K1 though I've seen lots of posts on MFK about it.

You may still want to buy or make your own manifold so you could bleed off excess air as I'm not positive that you will get the pump's full volume through 2 small air lines and that could cause premature air pump failure due to back pressure.

Another option is to run more than 2 air lines to the K1 to utilize the full pump output.

Hopefully someone with more experience will comment and help out.

thanks hopefully some one chimbs in with these kind of big pump experience.

Here is what I did for the Alita AP80 (I have the exact same setup for the AP40 as well).

Pump > black rubber hose > 1/2" hose barb > 1/2" PVC manifold (x3 3/8 lines) > x2 3/8 hose > x2 10" air disc > K1

The third 3/8 output line is for all air accessories. I run the lines under the stand as exhaust to bleed off excess air (not necessary for the AP40) and that extends the diaphragm life and makes it silent. I also used a threaded cap on the end of the manifold in case I wanted to open it up in the future.

I'll get an up close pic of the manifold for you when I get home. It was from pvcfittings.com
