I am gettin a 5"-6" arow and was wondering if he would eat 1.5"-2" pbass? I haven hit them yet but want to grow them out they will be in a 5' tank till my big tank is ready? Any thoughts?

Will be fine; for now. I have no clue of the growth rates of p-bass. If the arowana out-grows him, it might become lunch.

Just thought I'd add something else. This may sound foolish to some, but I've had it work by personal experience. My silver arowana has been raised in a 75 gallon with a small angelfish. Well, he's about 14" now (don't worry he moved out of that tank recently) and he never touched the angelfish. He could have easily swallowed him. I definitely believe this is because he was raised with the angel from the time he was 6" and didn't consider him food anymore. Honestly, I think your combination will work as long as the aro doesn't far outgrow the pbass.

had the same exact experience with you and all my fish in my tank considered aggressive too. you the Op has a good chance besides 5-6 is a baby as long as none of the tank mate fits in its mouth, besides silver is the least agressive of aro

Well let's put it this way, you can go of recommendations and ensure the safety and survival of all the fish or you can chance it. If you don't mind buying more fish if things go wrong then just experiment and see what works.

My recommendation would be to grow them out separate and not mix until the arowana is 10" and the Pbass need be no larger then 5-6". This benefits both species.

Good luck, it is always wise to be able to separate the fish if needed, so best to plan for that.

i'd listen to brian, i had a pbass eat 2 aros that were bigger then itand it did that in the same day. i would even wait more then that personally. them pbass can eat more then you think.

i would leave the aro alone or with smaller nonaggressive tankmates till it is atleast 8-10+
