We got a few new fish about two weeks ago for the 50 hex and in a space of 3 days about 5 fish have died mysteriously with no signs at all.
Parameters are perfect, temp is good and got a powerhead providing ample oxygen. What could be the prob?
2 mollies 2 rummies(been in for ages) and a SF with fins ripped.

In there atm are
3 Head tail light tetra
2 neons
6-7ish scissor tail tetra
1 bigass angel
1 bala
2 albino BN plecs
2 Clown loaches
3 mollies

They are well fed and there is a UGF and a powerfilter running in there.
EDIT: did a 30% WC a week ago

I don't know what the problem is, but my 2 angels are huge and are picking on the blue gourami and tetras I have in with them. It's getting so bad, I am going to have to move the gourami before the angels kill him. Is there any aggression issues with the angel?

It could be that Angel. They are aggressive towards smaller tetra. Angels have small mouths but are predators of small fish in the wild.

Yeah the angel is a nasty peice of work it could be him. I now know 3 deaths were due to oxygen shortage (powerhead was blocked) but the other ones were ripped to shreds.

I have just in the past weekend, suffered 8 eons and my Bla shark die, over 3 days!, all the other fish are ok.

any suggestions?

Jay
describe your tank and water parameters please.

Also, i will not put angels with tetras. They look peaceful, but when they are big, they are aggressive, and will snack on tetras in the night.

Blimey! I didn't type that very well did I? Shouldn't do posts when dog-tired and tipsy!

Anyway, I've got a 60L tank and all the parameters are perfect and the Ph is at 7.0. Since the neon and bala shark deaths, the 2 female guppies have both dropped over 15 fry each (which I have transferred to a nursery tank. In the nursery tank there is also a thriving young pepper catfish. Just before the shark croaked it, she was swimming irratically and appeared to have a tiny outbreak of white spot (which I treated) but as far as the neons go, I was wondering if it might have been neon tetra disease.

I am reluctant to introduce any new fish now, as I've heard that neon tetra disease needs at least 6 months without a host before it dies out. Apparently, cardinal tetras are immune to NTD so I thought about introducing some of them.

However, I am wondering if a male guppy I introduced months ago was to blame (he was the 1st to die) but he snuffed it 2 weeks before any of the neons started showing signs of illness. And when they went, they went in 36 hours, along with the shark.

Having kept tropical fish in my younger days and returning to it once more, I have never experienced such a quick bout of death! And more preplexing is the fact that the female guppies are totally unaffected. Bizarre!

Jay.
