Like he said, it greatly depends one the type of setup you are aiming for. Like type of plants, foregrounds, backgrounds and so on....

it really does depend on what you want to grow. it also depends on if you use cfl, tube, t5, t8,t12? wattage is probably less important than k #. low light plants will grow with anything over about 3200, ideal would be 5000-6700.

ha well obv im new to live plants...i have moss, kyoto, and a tropica fern..."peto plants" so im looking 4 what bulb suits the needs best
