I have 5 Juvi JD's in a 55 gallon growout. I'm picking up another 125 some time next week but that is besides the point.
They are all between 1.5-2" long.
I feed them 1 50g frozen brine cube 4 times a day. Is this overfeeding??
And if so what would you reccomend feeding them. They won't eat hikari gold, new life spectrum small fish ( therma-a), wardley's plain flakes, frozen bloodworms, freeze dried blookdworms. Just sanfrancisco bay brand frozen brine.

You should really get them to take to the pellet. If you have to, starve them to it. It seems cruel but fish can go days-weeks without eating and eventually they'll eat the pellets rather than starve to death. Refrain from any other food/treats until you accomplish this. Good luck.

:iagree:

Pellets never worked on my JD who is 6 in half inches actually, when I purchased him at 3 inches and also he refused to eat flakes. It took me almost until he reached 6 inches to get him to finally eat cichlid flake, bloodworms, and some times once in a great while beefheart for him when he was in the 55 gallon. He only kept on eating Krill.I tried the don't feed them for days, that didn't work still.Sometimes the fish can be smarter than that and know you will eventually feed them regardless. When they're juvis its easier to feed them in my view, than when they're about 4 inches honestly.I have 1 EBJD that is 1.5 inches and I feed EBJD the flakes and tiny piece of algae wafer at times.

I didn't feed them for a week put in pellets one day, flakes the next. Set up my camera to see if they were eating them after I left the room and nuhuh. Another 2 weeks, same thing. That is why I posted this is because they are gorgeous little juvi's almost black with blue spots and I got scared that they would starve or be stunted so I threw in some brine and within a minute all 4 cubes were gone.
