I got a Tig on Friday and I am getting worried. All he does is swim back and forth. Sounds funny but I thought Tigs were like Bichirs... move then stop for a long period of time.

It worries me cause when i got him he acted like a reg Tig... motionless in a 20gl long. Put him in my 60gl sump with a great amount of current and he just paces back and forth in the front of the sump.

I dont know if it is a good sign of a happy Tig or a bad sign that hes trying to tell me something??

All params are fine, all tankmates are fine aswell

Dont know how to take his swimming...:screwy:

Thanks, any opinions??

normal until they get fully acclimated.

Cant help but free bump and good luck.

BTW where did u get a 5" tig from R1's boyfriend is looking for 1.

My smaller guys were always swimming. When they finally found where they wanted to be they chose to swim upright against the glass for the first two months. Once they started getting bigger they chilled out and laid on the bottom. Is there any place where he can get refuge from the current if he needs?

Not much for him to go but there are a few things in there that could help him... 4 sponge filters for extra BB, potted plants that could be places for him to get less current? Its not like there is Tsunamis in there:ROFL:. I have a turtle in my sump and he swims very well... current never re-directs his path.

It just scared me cause i turn the lights off (4 a long period of time) and check him... Swimming... Lights are only on for 3 hrs a day... swimming

Its cool to see him taking laps all day but just wasnt sure if its a sign for good or bad:D

Im going to take it as a good sign:headbang2
