my F1 mpimbwe colony finally reached the stage when a female was holding. she was an excellent mother and after 25 days of extreme High Anxiety (on my part) I milked her .about 30 fry were put in a mesh trap in a 2' tank that also had a colony of peppermint bristles .They had recently finally reached breeding after a similarly long wait and I was feeding them vegetable matter. I was so thrilled that my mpimbwe journey was over I neglected to consider the affect the bristle's waste had on the fry. 25 fronny fry all died in one disastrous day . :(
i quickly moved the breeding trap to a 4' Malawi community tank with much more water flow and hopefully less problems with ammonia .
I know its my fault - you don't have to make me feel any worse than I do now but what would you guys suggest for the next spawn . ( o yes there WILL be another one) .
any (constructive comments) that do not mention my stupidity welcome :1zhelp:

Hi,sorry to hear about your losses.I was a big breeder of african cichlids for 20 years. For best results with my fronts i would remove the mom soon after holding and put her in her own tank until she released on her own.I would fill her tank from the water she was already in and i used a bowl so she never left the water. The front fry seemed to come out the healthiest with this method.

sorry about the loss

sorry about your loss man, don't give up.
