Haven't had a tank for 5 years and looking to pick up one of these tanks for in my Office:
All Pond Solutions 250l

Aquarium Dimensions: 1069 x 434 x 730mm (L x W x H) = 250 litres

I was thinking of a bare bottom grow out tank for discus of 10-12 but my pH is 7.9 out the tap. Would they be okay?

What would people suggest as stocking suggestions? I have a load of ocean rock available so maybe some Malawi setup... Blues and yellows

Thanks

Bc this is an office tank I cannot imagine it will get the care and attention it would if it was in someone’s personal home. I would suggest a light stocking that doesn’t require much maintenance.

1 angelfish
A group of cardinal tetras
And a group of cories

heavily planted

+1 to a lightly stocked, heavily planted tank.

I was going to suggest leopard bush fish, but then I read the pH part. Not sure what would be a good suggestion.

For the ph I’d go for maybe some smaller ca cichlids.
Convict pair (or relatives like nanolutea, rainbow, or hrp) or a eba pair (South American)
Bn pleco or Cory cats
Swordtails as dithers

I forgot to add, this is my Office in my company so I'll happily give whatever maintenance is required. It's right next to the washroom too so setting up a hose and water change system will be straightforward.

Essentially the wife won't let me have one in the house so the Office also acts as my 'man cave'

A new wife that doesn't tell you what you can and can't have in your house

Really depends on the "look" you want. The planted tank suggestions are good, lots of movement and small fish and wouldn't look out of place in the office

Could always go with a single mid size cichlid if you wanted to go the wet pet route
