i have a 50 gal. and i am slowly changing it to a Marine. i have a Whisper 60 and a H.O.T. Magnum 250 for Filters. i know i need to change the Gravel out is there any other things i need to maintain this tank?

got the gravel change to live sand and working on getting a skimmer in the next week. i have some fish in there now. huma huma trigger, gulf toadfish, porcupine puffer, hawk eye, and two star fish but don't know how long the star fish will last with trigger and puffer. looking to get some seasoned live rock as well.
the SG is in the middle of 1.022 and 1.023. i have changed the gravel to live sand. everything seemd to be working the slither starfish hids all the time he gets picked on by the puffer. i habe lost one yellow tail damsil to the snowflake eel though
