50 gallon internal filter project

So I am starting my "all in one" 50 gallon fish tank project. It was mentioned in one of my other threads but I believe this project deserves its own thread.

To start here is a pic of the tank and the planed stocking.



This was an old sump that I will not be using as a sump. the dividers are already breaking out so I have decided to turn it to a tanks and put some smaller mini monsters in for my wife and daughter that way when I set up one of my bigger tanks I'll have more to say on the stocking of them. Anyway I want to make this an all in one tank that way I can set it just about anywhere I want it to without having to worry about extra space under it. Here it a picture of how i plan to section off the filter.

I would take out the pictus catfish. I had them in both a 55 and a 75 and they’re just far too active. They were constantly moving and stressing the other fish out, I think a 6 foot or maybe a 5 foot tank is best for that but hey, that’s just my opinion.

I knew they were active and thought that may go good with all the other active fish barb and shark. I'll have to talk to my wife about maybe swapping them for some corries sens shes the one that picked them.

Thinking about maybe removing the carbon chamber. most of what I have read says its not really needed?
