for the last couple years, my 50 gallon has been home to mbuna.

now i've rehomed almost all of them to do ADULT male haps/peacocks. here's what i have thus far.

1x Electric Blue Hap (S. Fryeri) - 6"
1x Lwanda "Red Top" Peacock - 6"
1x Sunshine Peacock - 5"
1x Yellow Tailed Acei - 4"
4x Electric Yellow Labs - 2-3"

i'm going to add one more peacock. i'm leaning towards a ruby red.

if neccessary i was considering trading the blue hap for either a Otopharnyx Lithobates "Yellow Blaze" Hap or an Aulonocara Rostratum "Long Nose" Peacock.

the tank is now full of texas holey rock with pool filter sand for substrate(looks nothing like above).

is a ruby red a good choice? trying to have every peacock be different in color.

can i get away with keeping the S. Fryeri or should i switch to one of the other 2 i mentioned?

how is my stocking overall?

thanks. it doesn't look anything like that anymore though. it's full of texas holey rock and at the moment there are a few of the large colorful stones but no more driftwood (bad for PH).

i can't decide whether to do half of the colorful stones and half texas holey rock or all of the holey rock. on the one hand i love the color of the stones, but while plain, the holey rock looks almost like a reef and the fish' colors just pop, instead of being almost matched by the blue, red, gray, etc. of the stones. in other words, with the pool filter sand and holey rock, the fish are the only thing colorful and it just looks cool that way. can't really explain it.

Imagine if that had a 3-D rocky background on the tank too! Either way it is a gorgeous tank and I think you'd be fine.

try also posting on african cichlid forum; you might get better input.

Personally, I find your tank cool and pretty, and wish I got a african set up like yours.

I think your tanks looks great, but it seems like you want to change it up quite a bit.. If you want to change it up, try to make a rock sculpture out of the THR by using some epoxy putty. try it! Its fun easy and cheap.

I agree with tyl089, post this up on the african fourm and you'll get lots of good advice.
