Hey Everybody,

It's simple...stock my 50 gallon corner tank lol

I currently removed all fish from the aquarium due to aggresion issues, however now I'm trying to have a peaceful community tank. The filter is the Fluval Fx5 which keeps the water crystal clean lol. I;m looking for large bodied fish as long as with small bottom dwellers. Any ideas?

Also I would only like to have hardy fish....thanks a million

P.S. Cichlids are ok also however I guess I mix them wrong and then they end up killing each-other....

Thanks A Million and Happy Holidays

Heres some suggestions man,

-Rainbows
-Gouramis
-Discus
-Angels
-Cory Catfish (Bottom Dwellers)
-African Butterfly Fish
-Barbs
-Danios
-Bristlenose Plecos (Bottom Dwellers)
-Silver Dollars

I have tiger barbs, they are fun to watch and tough enough to live with bigger fish (as long as they can't be eaten lol) might want to try some nice angelfish they get big (not with tiger barbs though)

Angels, Barbs, Danios, Gouramis, Corydoras, Otos, Loaches (particularly Kuhlis and some of the smaller, more peaceful Botia), Rainbows, Tetras (Penguin/Red Eye/Congo), Ctenopoma (not with tiny fish), BN pleco, African Butterfly Fish, Celebes Half Beak, Dusk Panther Goby, Silver Dollars.

Note that not all fish on the list mix well together.

Have a Happy New Year!

Ok thanks for the suggestions, I will compile a list of fish and see if you guys agree, thanks gain and happy holidays

Along with those ideas, do yu guys have any ideas on cichlid compatibility? I think I favor more on large bodied fish as well.

Is their a rule of thumb that tells you what cichlid co-exist with each-other?

No one can really tell you which cichlids will get along with each other (for the most part). Cichlids can be totally unpredictable, what works out for some people, may not work out for someone else. Like, for instance, my JD hates my Convict and my buddies JD gets along great with his Convict

So, with that being said, you may just have to experiment yourself and if one cichlid doesnt get along with the other (especially after a couple of days or weeks), then simply trade the cichlid for another and see if that cichlid is compatible with the other.

The only thing I remember back a few years ago, I had three parrot cichlids that got a long great with eachother. This is something my mom really enjoyed back when we had them. Do you guys think three parrot cichlids can co exist in a 50 gallon along with other fish?

Clownknife, I understande fish are like people...unpredictable so like you said I will give it a shot at numerous fish that would co exist with these parrot cichlids.

Oh ya, parrots usually get along great with each other...I was mostly talking about species getting along with species other than themselves...like jack dempseys with texas cichlids as opposed to jack dempseys with jack dempseys...(hope I'm making sense) lol...
