500 gal. tank ??

building a 502 gallon tank and wanted to know if a single mag drive 3600gph would suffice or 2 would be better!?

2 would be better. As the mag gets dirty it might not pump the necessary amount of water.

I agree. besides spreading the amount of water handled by each pump gives you more efficient water movement. You may use a little more electricity but if your building a 502 gallon tank, thats probably the least of your concerns.

two is always better than 1..., simply beacause of the fact that if one dies on you...., then you still have the other..., and more importantly your fish wont die on ya beacuse of it..... cus you will have filtration going on.... I'll be doing the same too.... good luck...

I run 2 Mag 24's on my 550 gal and the circ rate is nice.

Two of them are better. Run them on separate GFCI circuits.

I use two Quiet one 14000. Roughtly same flow rate at zero head but the Q1 has a higher head. I am estimating about 5500 GPH in my 579.

agree two would be better and making a 500 gal is prob ur bigger problem haha
