shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Hi, in a few months Im considering setting up a 500 gallon saltwater tank. I plan to only house trigger fish. I know they generally say you shouldnt have more than one, but has anyone done this before? Im hoping have such a large tank and lots of hiding spaces will let them all survive.

dunno about the triggers but a 500g salt setup should set you back quite a bit.
what type of setup are you looking at? would love to watch the progress.

There is no problem keeping different species of Trigger in the same system. As long as it is only ONE of the same species, ie, 1x Titan, 1x Clown, 1x Queen and so on. People have managed to keep pairs of the more aggressive species together, mainly due to different sizes and age, but it is not advised.
For example, Clown Triggers are solitary in the wild. They meet up with a mate somewhere over the reef shelf to do what they need to do. They leave their young behind in relative safety, and go there own ways.
I have to follow the same rules with my Groupers, only one of a kind = harmony. Two of a kind = armageddon.

Very risky to mix the species , I have kept mutiple nigers sargassum and pink tails before and have had a clown trigger pinktail niger and humu humu in a 125 together with no issues but the clown trigger was the biggest and last trigger I added.
