I am getting a 500 gallon custom made 8' by 3' by 3' tank and want to keep motoro stingrays and silver arowanas.
I definitely want to get two motoro stingrays and was wondering if I could keep two silver aros in the tank too?
I plan on keeping the tank long term and will be getting sump filtration.

Some people might say it needs to be wider. I personally would do it. I would be worried about the 2 silvers fighting each other though not the size or volume of water. I think they do better solo or in large groups.

When you have silver arowanas they should always be kept in odd numbers 1,3,5,7 etc and if you´re getting motoros you should get a trio 1 male and 2 females because the males sometimes get aggressive towards the females and if you have two he divides the aggression

The problem is that I have no idea which genders my stingrays will be but what is the maximum amount of rays and arowanas I can keep without stunting them many years down?

Id get 3 aros and 3 rays. Determining gender on rays is easy so finding 2 females and a male shouldnt be a problem.

I wouldnt say plenty wide but wide enough for silvers to live comfortably.

Male rays have claspers and no you don't need 1 male and 2 females. You can house 1 of each without issues the majority of the time. Occasionally you can get an aggressive specimen but usually it is only when they are trying to breed the female.
Just do a search for stingray claspers. You will see what they are. 3' foot wide is good for a long period but some Motoro could eventually outgrow it. Some do not, just depends on genetics and the husbandry of the setup.

Can't help on the aro though...........
