Finally got water in my tank. 500 gallons. Had a minor mishap with a fitting this morning and blew water all over underneath and shorted our the power brick to my pump so got another on order. This is my version of a bean animal overflow with a coast to coast overflow. Works quite well. I wanted an overflow that was turtle proof so I used 3" PVC as the overflow the lower drain is a full siphon and the upper takes the left over. The hose that comes off the top drain runs back inside the 3" PVC and out so if the water rises, it creates a siphon just as the bean animal secondary drain works. What is everyone doing for heaters on these big tanks? I was going to use a coolant heater but not enough room in the plumbing to add it so looking at other options.

Nice mate. I have a 500W titanium heater in my sump connected to an older blue planet controller for my 560gallon acrylic tank. Keeps it steady at 75F in my basement which is pretty close to 68F year round. Could prob use an additional one for back up, but I have a spare 500W heater, and check the temp daily so we're good
