So i have finally started cycling my 500 gallon :D

basically i have matrix, sponge and wool etc in 4 out of 5 compartments. 2 anubias plants on driftwood(40W light) in a refugium.

and 2X300W jager heaters.

i left 1 compartment empty so i can add ceramic rings..

water has been de-chlorinated and i have added beneficial bacteria.

i would appreciate info or advice on what i have done wrong(if anything) , what else i should add? or if i should add some clay balls i have in my other cycled tank to kick start with bacteria..

thanks :)

will post pics asap , trying but uploads are failing !!!

If you aren't adding ammonia to the tank for the bacteria to consume, you're wasting your time. Bacteria must have food to eat in order to establish a healthy population.
