I will be purchasing a 50 gallon breeder (36”x18”x19”) after the holidays and am in the process of planning everything out. The tank size is set due to the stand I have. I would like to make this a Tanganyikan tank, and was hoping to include the following fish:

Lamprologus Ocellatus
Neolamprologus Leleupi
Julidochromis Marlieri

I actually already have the Ocellatus in a 15 gallon that I will transfer.

Will these 3 species do well together? If so, how many of each would be considered appropriate? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance.

I would go for only two species. N. leleupi + ocellatus, or Julidochromis + ocellatus, because the tank is two small to provide enough territories for two rock dwelling species.
A pair of J. maleri can work if you are lucky but the tank is on the smaller side for them in combination with other species. Instead I would go with one of the smaller or middle sized Julidochromis species like ornatus, marksmithi, dickfeldi or transcriptus.

I would skip the leleupi with shellies in any sized tank, and I have never had luck with leleupi in a 36" tank. The small peaceful julidochromis would be my choice as well.
