The tank was finished about two weeks ago and we finally got started today. So far I think it's looking good, we won't start the canopy until the stand is done. As long as weather permits we'll finish the bones of the stand tomorrow. There's going to be a little twist to this stand before its all said and done. Stand is 36"x25"x30.5".

Thats one hell of a cube set up :) is something going in the middle section under the actual tank? Id worry about the bottom of the tank bowing. You could use a piece of 1/4" or 3/8" plate steel if you need the space underneath. If not id def. Stick another leg in that gap with 2x4. Ive bought alot of acrylic tanks made from .5" or less with bowed out bottoms due to lack of supports across a span.

I'm gonna be putting something underneath before its all said and done. I'd like to make the middle storage and probably will even if I put a post underneath the tank in the middle. Any opinions about using 2x4's going the length of the tank underneath the plywood the tank is sitting on? That's how I've seen acrylic tanks usually sit on stands, plywood underneath being supported by 2x4's in the middle of the frame.

Ahh i like that idea :) . You could just make a little frame out of 2x4 with a center support spanning the gap. Then you have your storage without a leg in the way.
