i was wandering since i cant afford to get a bigger tank right now but i can afford a 50g tank if i were to take my 10" snook an 6" pike out of the 80g with my 10" male an 6" female jag and put the snook an pike in a 50g till i can afford a bigger setup. would that be alright? i am trying to get a 150g or 200 by the end of the summer so they wouldnt even spend a year in the 50g.

Its never recommended but under smart care conditions you could do it. Keep the water changes up! Pikes get HITH easily if the water quality is poor. Do it but be quick!! LOL

I wouldn't recommend it. You might be OK for a while, but too often that larger tank never comes. What ever you do just remember that the snook is far from full grown and a 50g isn't going to give it much room at it's current size.

snooks and jags will continue to grow pretty quickly too. a 50 just isn't going to do for very long for that snook unfortunately.

Well considering the other option of keeping them with a bredding pair of jags, I would say yes move the fish to the 50g.
