So my girlfriend just moved into a condo with her mother and sister. In her room, she has a 50g tank built into the wall. And naturally, I'm the one who has to take care of it. Go figure. Ha. But anyways, my question is, what could I put in there that would be very vibrant and not too terribly aggressive? I was thinking maybe 3 or 4 Severums. Would they be comfortable in a tank that size? Any and all suggestions are welcome. :)

How about a pair of viega heterospilis. They are a little smaller and less agressive than most viega

What are the dimensions of the tank? I would suggest a pair of Salvni (though a pair would be aggressive) with some tough dithers such as giant danios or tiger barbs. Or, you could also do a group of bolivian rams with some colorful tetras and possibly and angelfish.

I'm not familiar with sevs, but from what i've seen they're pretty nice. But if I had to choose from Central America, I'd go with a pair of sajicas and some nice quality swordtails. But if it wasn't from central America, I'd so with a poly cause I've always wanted to try one out, just never had a big enough tank. :)

50 gal is a bit small for an adult severum they can get to be 8-12" .

Could get some angles or festivum with a few dwarfs, corys and tetras. That would be a fun active tank.

I'm really liking this suggestion. Any clue where I could order a pair? I'm guessing Rapps has some.

I wouldn't recommend any veja for a 50g. They get too big. I would stick w/ 2 servs.

The heterospilis only get to be around 8". Sevs can reach 12".
