Fellow keepers, I am looking for suggestions. After 3 years of my fish tank being setup I’m finally looking to finish setting it up. I need to enclose this stand but more importantly I want to place some sort of trays at the bottom in the 3 holes of the stand. The objective is to protect against any leaks.

Ultimately. I want trays to cover the bottom so I can put water detectors and be notified if I have a leak. Eventually a bulkhead

Couple questions:
1) Does anyone have suggestions of where I can find custom tray sizes or other ideas for protecting against leaks? I’ve searched and cannot find anything that fits nicely.
2) Any suggestions for wrapping the tank? I was thinking if just buying some black acrylic sheets and using magnets.
3) anyone with experience with the Neptune Apex controller? I’m thinking of getting the cheaper one so I can clean up all the wires are the bottom and monitor my tank remotely.

thanks!!

It was a miserable experience but I fiberglassed the inside bottom of my stand for the reasons you mentioned.

There is a hole in the black pipe right above the uniseal that will drain the stand bottom in the case of a big leak.

I even used a uniseal and abs pipe to plumb the bottom of the stand into my house sewer lines. I used a U trap (P trap) in the floor under the stand to prevent smells from coming up. Water also exits through this drain during water changes.
