Looking for some out of the ordinary type fish to stock this sized tank with, Knifes or gars would be neat. Silver arowana would be neat too. Also interested in some larger catfish.

Recommendations?

It seems like the 54" length will limit you on what you can do, that's a really odd tank size. What about rays?

A silver will get way too big for that tank too, are you more of an oddball fan? Cichlids?

Yeah I like stranger things, but SA cichlids are cool too. I like larger cats but I've never had a tank big enough. It would be cool to have 2 or 3 cats that grew out to around 10". I also considered doing a knife tank with 5 or 6 ghost knifes, but i'm worried they wouldn't be active during the day.

Gulper cats or red belly's?
Apurensis don't move much maybe one could work...
Group of albino hemibagrus nemurus or whatever they are classified as nowadays...

Some gymnotus sp. Knives would look great in that tank, and the dimensions would also Be amazing for spiny eels - a combo of those two plus some active midwater fish is what I'd do :)

What about a group of odoe and/or freshwater barracuda maybe total of 6, a red wolf fish, Tanganyikan spiney eel, some four lined pictus and/or ornate pim catfish, and an Adonis pleco.

I like the barracuda idea. Maybe a big school of Exodons, and a large pleco like the Pseudcanthicus. I would like a little longer tank, but Toxotes blythii would be cool in there. As tall as it is a group of Monos or Scats could be fun.
