55 and a datnoid

if I bought a a 3-4 in widebar datnoid would it be ok in a 55g for about a year?

Probably, yes .. they are slow growers.

are datnoids expensive? my lfs has them they r like 1-2 inches long and they r for $45. is this the normal price?

that is a decent size tank for now, and the price seems good, only thing less expensive I've seen are AT's
