i wanted to try the canister im used to the hang on back type of filter

I use FX6’s. I generally fill at least the top tray with pool balls and it makes filter maint a breeze. A bit spendy for a 55 but you’ll not soon outgrow it and as with many decisions it’s a buy once, cry once event.
