Like the title says I'm looking into getting a new filter setup. I have a sand bottom and it has killed my propellar magnets on my Magnum twice now. I love the sand, so I'm entertaining options. Any idea's?

On a side note at what size tank do most people upgrade to wet/dry's and if it would make sense to get one now, what brand and size filter do i look into?

As for fish, I have 2 gold/yellow bristle nose type pleco's that have stopped growing at about 4". Been meaning to get pics of them posted on the catfish board to get identified. A small cory that I have had forever and 3 small danio's.

My goal is to end up with live plants and basically make it a community tank. First time trying the live plants so want to get the hang of that.

Howdy ,

Any Eheim canister. They have their impellers installed on top of the pot. I'd suggest Eheim 2217.
