My tank looks empty because all i have in it right know is a 1 and a half inch jack dempsey, 2 inch parrot cichlid, and a 2 inch featherfin catfish who hides alot. I was just wondering what else i could put in untill they start getting big. My filter is a 400 emperor filter (i plan on getting another when i get the money) temp is 79 degrees. I have sand and live plants too.(java fern)

When those fish get bigger you will need at least a 70 gallon aquarium (preferably 90 gallons).

Read the question he said until they get bigger, and you never answered that. Geeze you need to learn to type and spell. Although i'm not saying he's wrong. You could put whatever else you want in that tank as long as you have a larger more suitable home for them once they out grow that tank. You could put some firemouths and convicts in and they would be able to stay in that tank for life.

I would look into getting some smaller schooling tetras or barbs. They will add alot of activity to the tank without much bio load. JD and parrot get larger the tetras could still be in the tank, as long as they don't get eaten.
