My mother wants to set up a spare 55 we have for a community tank, she wants angelfish, honey gourami, maybe zebra danios, maybe blue crawfish, maybe clown loaches, any other ideas? Maybe like a really pretty colorful fish that’s a nice size? It’s gonna be planted with driftwood (scaped) i would also like a pretty schooling fish

Focus on your existing fish before getting more

Here is a stocking idea: 2 Altum Hybrid Angelfish (like bigger blue ones or something like that), six or possibly more Diamond Tetras (not super colorful, but amazing sheen when full grown), six or so emerald corys, and two honey gouramis.

Another stocking idea: 1 Blue Crayfish, 3 to 5 Silver dollars, 4 African Butterflyfish, or 5 to 6 hatchet fish.

The downside is you can't have plants as Silver dollars will annihilate any plants, so you can only have a hardscape with rocks and wood.

Also, crayfish can't be kept with small, slow fish, so I left the crayfish out of the first option. They have to have very specific tankmates, large and fast enough not to get hurt and small enough not to eat the crayfish.

I am not pushing silver dollars, but the idea below may reflect a common perception but it is very relative in my experience.

3 different species of silver dollars, genus Metynnis. All plants and decorations are real.
