55 gallon Electric yellow cichlid tank?

I am about to purchase another 4 foot 55 gallon fish tank, and i was wondering... I have about 20 1 inch electric yellow cichlid fry in a 20 gallon tank, and i want to keep as many as possible in the 55 gallon...

But i'm not sure how many i can keep in there?

How long can i keep all of them in the 55 before i have to take some out?

And how many can i keep in there permanently?
It will have very good filtration. (fyi)

i would think that all 20 would be good in the 20g till u can get rid of some.
And the rule is 1" per Gallon
 
i would say 15 is a good number also. With good filtration,alot of rock work, and weekly water changes, they will breed like rabbits.
 
You will see some AWESOME schooling and territorial behaviour with that 15 suggestion. Though I suggest doing awesome rockwork or a DIY cave background so any agression can be smoothed over with hiding places too. :3 You're so lucky! The MOMENT my mother relents I've got my tank planned from substrate to stand colour xP

LOL thanks ^^ Yeah i just bought about 400 pounds of lace rock, for about... mmmm 30 dollars. I'm gunna be stocking all my tanks with it. LOL. FYI its black too. so even better. So i cant wait to get my new 55 setup (im picking it up on thursday):headbang2
