  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would only do a breeding pair in a 55. Anything more then that will be pushing it

if i had two breeding pairs would that be ok or is that a big no?

I've read about other people doing it successfully but I personally won't. When they breed the other pair will likely beaten unless you pull the fry early

If you plan out your aquascape with areas that the pairs can claim and be out of view of the others, you may be able to pull it off. Unless your breeders are exceptionally aggressive, they should be satisfied with chasing the intruders out of view. Stacked driftwood, tall plants, rock work etc.

I think starting with 3-5 is a good idea and then when you get a pair you can decide whether they'll tolerate tankmates

Anyone going to answer the question the op asked lol?

I've never used the marineland filters myself, but run fluval 405's on a fairly heavily stocked African rift lake tank no issues, and a 46g with a pair of Thoricthys Ellioti and 15 tetras and barbs no problem.

I think thats what i will probably do
