For my birthday in July I want to get a hood with a light for my 55 gallon bass and bluegill tank. The tank is very dark I have black gravel and I think that when I put the light on it it will brighten up the fish and the gravel. What I was wondering is if this is a good idea and should I shut off the light at night or leave it on?
