Wow! My Senegal bichir would never be seen in that good looking planted creation. What are you using for substrate?

Hello; The substrate is a small gravel. I believe it is likely a quartz. Ranges in size from bb size (0.17) to pea size. I bought several hundred pounds back in the 1970's and have been reusuing it many times.

That's great I was thinking you would say special soil based subtrate. I have some java moss, and java fern don't really know what I'm going to do with them yet. :)

Hello; No special soil. I do feed the two swords solid plant tabs (flourish) at the roots.
I have some java fern in the mix of plants. I have found it to establish in the lower light (shaded areas). Good luck with your plants.
