I have a 55 gallon that leaked about 15-20 gallons over night. It stopped leaking by the time I came home to assess the situation. It hasn't gone down passed the line I marked.

Should I refill a little, find the leak and attempt a patch reseal if it's not leaking through a seam or just tear it all down?

Also is the stand done for after being wet? It's a 75 gallon stand made of particle board.

particle board could collapse when wet , do what you think is right but I would have that baby down with the tank on the ground or another stand until I could get replacements,, good luck , I hope it turns out well.....

Well, do you have somewhere to keep the fish currently in your 55gal while you attempt to fix it (could get a plastic pin pretty cheap for short term)? If you do then I would tear the tank completely down and reseal the entire thing, while also replacing the stand - particle board does not hold up against water.

If you don't have somewhere to keep the fish, then yeah try for a patch reseal - but this is likely going to be a pain.

Tear down IMO reseal entire aquarium, purchase another stand like was stated in last post.

I have an empty 36 gallon I was planning to put the inhabitants in temporarily.

I have a 75 gallon ready to be resealed(scraped, cleaned and taped). But I'd have to buy another stand because this stand is apparently ruined. :(

IF you have a replacement tank(even temporary) by all means ,use it:)
