I have a 55 gallon with a leak from a top corner. I bought 100% silcone to resale the leak. I was thinking about just cleanings out inside of tank dry it then run the silicone over the silicone thats already there so over lapping it.

You MFK's think that would work and am I using the right silicone?

thanks for your help

GE Silicone I window/door is the stuff you want, or something that says aquarium safe. Otherwise, its likely to not be safe.

If the leak is at the top corner, likely you can just lower the water level enough for the repair, then cover the area generously. To repair it properly, you would dry out the whole tank, move it to a well ventilated area, clean and remove all the old silicone, then apply all new silicone. To do a really clean repair, mask out the area with painters tape before applying the silicone so you get clean lines and 0 mess.
