k got my 55 for 20 bucks leak tested it and it leks on one seam about half way to the top can i just clean the seam inside and put a new bead of silicone on it or will this not work and if yes what do i use thankyou

you'll need to reseal the whole thing because new silicone doesn't stick to old silicone. Remove all the silicone with a razor (one of the flat ones) and clean the glass really good - scrape all the residue off and use rubbing alcohol. Then reseal it with silicone - I used GE silicone 1. Use tape to make sure the beads are straight. Let it dry for 2 days and refill it.

Just cut the old silicone out and clean it really well with alcohol. To keep it nice and clean tape 1/8" away from each seam with masking tape, put the bead down, spread it with your finger, and then pull the tape off. You'll never know it was resealed if you do it that way.

You don't have to rip the tank apart, just make sure the glass on each side of the joint is very very clean.
