55 gallon oddball community tank!

Hello my friends, I thinking about turning one of my 55's into an oddball planted tank. I just bought a used 48" quad ho 5t off craigslist for a killer price.

I think I'm going to go with soil because I hear that has the best plant growth and I find sand very annoying. I want to add co2 but not sure of what kind or the price so I think I'll just wait till after I have all the plants and fish settled first.

As for fish I was thinking this so far, I would LOVE suggestions:

African Butterfly fishx???
Glass catfishx???
Cory cat(gimme suggestions on the best type)x???

As for the cories, the care for all the different kinds are basically the same, so the type you want is completely up to your preference of what they look like.

I prefer panda corys. I keep mine in a planted discus tank, so my xonsiderations for buying them was to get a bottom fish that doesn't draw the eye away from the centerpieces. Pandas stay smaller than some other corys, and the coloration isn't very pronounced. I have 4 in a 55, and they are pretty active sometimes as a group, sometimes not. I could probably handle 4-5 more.
