55 gallon question!

Hi guys I hear a lot of good things about this site so I decided to join.

I have been thinking about getting either a male grammode or a male Red tiger Motaguense. I feel like the Gram would be ideal because of his slow growth rate but I am worried about his shyness if left by himself.

The RTM would be ideal for a single fish. I hope to upgrade his tank in a year or sooner. I have ruled out a lot of other cichlids but I feel like I can do these two cichlids.

Any suggestions?

i would say the grammode would be good in the 55g but for a RTM id go for at least a 75g
