I have a 6-7 inch Silver Aro in my tank Length of 48 inches. I feed him feeder goldfish and drop about 3 in whenever i see there is no more. Im aware this is tank is too small for a full grown Aro. But is this ok as a temp home? I keep water in top notch conditions, but i was wondering of this tank size poses are long term threat to the Aro it's self.

should be fine for a while... but be ready to get a bigger tank. btw try and not feed the aro feeder goldfish unless you are QT them first. try feeding krill or market shrimp.

QT mean quarantine(usually a separate tank used as a "hospital" for new or sick fish) most people QT there feeders before feeding it to their fish because of parasites etc. and market shrimp just refers to the shrimp we eat :D(the raw ones of course)

normally i go to the LFS and buy around 20 goldfish, i but them in a 2 gallon bowl and pitch 3 in whenever needed. Is this Method of QT acceptable?

usually when people QT their feeders they add medicine to get rid of an internal or visible external parasites.

Okay, so your not experienced enough to start "qt"ing....

Quit feeding your fish goldfish. They are nasty fish that will make your arowana sick. Your basically killing your fish. It needs to be on arowana sticks and fresh shrimp.

You know you will need atleast around a 350 - 450 gallon tank to properly house your full size arowana? Maybe getting it a proper home while its still small is a good idea.

A large tank is underway hence the comment in the opening post about getting a larger tank. However i didn't think a 350G tank? I was building a 280g is this not good enough? It will be build by the summer. Hopefully he wont out-grow the tank hes in now

Aro sticks seem good ill head over to my local market and fish store to pick some up asap.

Keep in mind he might not take them because he likes the fatty goldfish. Don't give up he will eventually get really hungry and break. Keep up the good work man!

The 280 sounds fine, be sure to get as much width and length as possible.
