I've been looking around for another tank to have one fish or MAYBE a pair in. Today I found a 55G for sale for $100. Wood stand and all.

So my question is.....if I do get it what should I put in it? List em!

Hmmm..... I would do a few bichirs if I got another 55. Other than that your kinda limited cuz alot of the cichlids get too big for a 55. A pair of sevs would deffinatly be cool. I have a big sev that I had in the 55 by himself for a while and he was awsome alone. Actually he is for sale if you DO decide on sevs. About 8" gold and is beautiful.

Warning, none of these are cheap, or exactly easy to find. They range from around $30 ea. for the Nandus to about $300 for the Polynemus but a pair of any of these would be impressive and not your common tank.
Nandus nandus...,Gangetic leaf fish
Glossamia aprion...,Mouth almighty
Siniperca scherzeri..., Scherzeri's chinese perch
Siniperca undulata..., marbled chinese perch
Polynemus multifilis...,elegant paradise fish
Polynemus paradiseus...,paradise threadfin

how about a pair of blue jd sweet looking fish that should be able to live in a 55 for life

Cichlasoma Octo

Or perhaps

Nandopsis Octo

Get a female Motanguense or however you spell it. Those fish are amazing. I am getting one hopefully when I get a new tank.

Nicaraguense would look great in that tank. Males max out around 10in while the females 8.
