Hey, Looking for some new ideas toward stocking the new 55 gallon i acquired over Craigslist. I'm getting bored of the small fish that i do have ( Brichardi Cichlids & Kenyi's.) I'm looking for bigger fish like 10"-12" range so I was looking for some suggestions thanks for your input :grinno:

Well i think that if u really want to get into bigger fish ie 12 inch u should start with a bigger tank that way u wont have to movehem cause trust me it is verry stressfull and a pain in the ass .the last hing u want to do is lose a monster moving it .i just finished moving my giant snakeheads into the garage into a 680 from the 180 that they were in and it really sucked they got preatty beat up but all is well now they are really tuff fish!

i would say for the fish to be comfortable, keep the max size to 8 inches for a 55.if you get a 75 the footprint is only deeper and slightly taller.48x18.a 55 is good for many smaller growing cichlids.convicts,firemouths,acaras,kribs,etc.you have many choices
