as stated. also, how long will a tiger oscar last in here? its 3-4inches. dunno the dimensions yet,but it looks like a normal, petsmart 55 gallon

PS dont have any fish yet, want to do a bit of researching before i do

Well.... that depends on how much you feed the oscar. and how many fishes your planning to keep along with the oscar in the 55?

how bout some green terrors? how long would those last in there?

A dozen tetras with an oscar will definitely not work!

You might see some disappear.. and have a very fat oscar....

Plus, that would be an intense bio-load you can keep the oscar in there for awile.. eventually needing a 90-120G tank for life.

well, any suggestions? i have researched some, but i cant make up my mind.

Well, if you want a single specimen oscar tank, that would be fine for quite awhile, however you most likely will not be able to have any tank mates, unless you have extreme over filtration... if you do go this route.. make sure to pick other aggressive new world cichlids ie: severums, jack dempseys etc.

Well the oscar can get up to 12"+ so a standard 55gal tank is only 12" or 13" deep so
of course the oscar will have a hard time turning once it gets big. Obviously you will
need a bigger tank down the line. Oscars grow about 1" a month so it sounds like you
may have only a couple more months before a nice upgrade.
