I just started building my 55 gallon fish tank stand with room in the middle for two twenty gallon tanks and storage on the bottom. I am only gonna put one twenty gallon in and use the other side for storage. I havent gotten far on the project between going to school and work my spare time is spent on the stand. I was wondering what you guys thought about it? If i could change anything or add anything on too it. Any info or opinions would be grateful. Thanks.

Either you have a very small drill, the picture is distorted/optical illusion, or that stand is much larger than the size needed for a 55. What dimensions did you build it too? It looks like your stand is overbuilt for a 55, which is a very good thing. Better to have a stand that is too strong, than a stand that is too weak. Post some more pics with more details, and angles when you get the chance.

looking good, I agree: < that stand looks like it could hold a 200G.
You deff will not worry about it not holding up a 55G. I like the idea of the 20's on the bottom < will both be displays of will one side be used for filtration?

I will post some more pics later today. But right now i can tell you the dimensions of the whole stand. The height is 42", the length is 67", and the width is 20". I enlarge the dimensions so i could fit my 20 gallon tanks in the middle. So going in to it I knew it was going to be bigger then my 55 gallon tank. Later on down the road I want to upgrade my tank so it actual is great that i did that.

I am going to try and start breeding yellow labs in the 55 gallon. I have one 20 gallon tank as of now and I am going to put the females in that tank when they are holding. the other side is for storage. but when i get the chance i want to put another twenty in the side i am not useing. i have so many ideas i want to do but i just need to take one step at a time.

sounds good, looking foward to seeing the updated pics later

You can definitely get a bigger tank with those dimensions.
