Im moving all my fish to the basment 125 gal tank, so i will have an empty 55 gall with sand in my room.

Question is any snake or some type of lizard that will be able to live its full life in a 4ft x 1ft with sand as a substrate?

If not i do have ton of aspen bedding or the reptile carpet for a 55 gal but would love to be able to keep the sand look.

Sand is not a good substrate for beardies. They live in scrublands and rocky outcroppings.. The sand/soil mix could work for one though.

Perhaps a sandfish? You may not see it all the time, but they're cool little things.

Sand broad, knob tail geckos . If the sand is the smooth plays and syle

Get it about 6 inches and get yourself a pair of sandboas. There's some cool species out there. The lfs here had a tartar in a 55 that was almost 3 1/2 feet long. I would not do a beardie a 55 isn't wide enough. A standard 55 is only 12" wide. Not enough for a beardie. You could try and find a place that sold patch nose or long nose snakes. They are sort of like a desert form of a ratsnake. We see them out in the mojave on the sandy areas. Just give them some places to hide. A sandboa though you just give them a small water dish and if you want to you can lay a piece of flat wood or I've seen people put down small sheets of acrylic or glass and they'll hide under it. Lots of ideas. Pm me if you want more info

I don't know much about lizards, but we had a leopard gecko in a 30 gal with sand substrate. He seemed to like that well enough. He was fun, he'd sit on our shoulder and chill like a parrot. lol. Cool little guy.
