would 4 clown loaches, 1 betta fish, 3 rams, 1-2 angelfish, 5 fancy tailed guppies and 10 neons work in a 55 gallon tank? Will any destroy plants? any other fish suggestions? thx

3 rams would be a great idea to work around with . i wouldnt recommend bettas with guppies as they usually hate anything with long flowy fins. and no on the clown loaches they need a larger school and can each get very big. but there are plenty of loach and botias that will fit a 55g.

Turns out I'm getting a 45 gallon. Whats a good setup. I would like rams, an angel or 2, neons, fancy tails, a small pleco like a bushy nose, and some bottom dwelling school that is active. thx guys

You could do the rams and angels together, they are both pretty passive for cichlids. The only problem you may run into is the angels eating the neons when they get bigger, but it would work for a while. The bristlenose pleco would be a good choice, but I'm not sure if they eat plants or not. For bottom dwellers, a school of corys would be awesome.

In stead of the Neons you could do a school of Red cardnals or Black neon tetras, they are less torpedo shapped. That is what I have. Also instead of the Neons do a school of bleeding heart tetras, In the vids I've seen of them they are always schooling at the mid-bottom of the tank.

cool thx guys. Will the corys uproot anything? and keep the suggestions flowin

alright thanks again. Any other fish suggestions would be great because I'm always open to any ideas.

I'd skip the guppies altogether and go with more numbers for the tetra school you go with
