I have an empty 55 gallon tank and was wondering what the biggest fish i could put in it so it would be comfortable and if so are there any other fish that could ge with it

That is my question what big fish would be good for a 55 gallon. I want to have a big fish but have no idea what king of big fish
There are lots of options. Do you like cichlids? do you like oddballs? theme tank? Do you want just one piranha? etc so many options.
5 discus or 1 oscar(some will argue this, just keep up on your water change and have a huge filter)
Most non-shoaling fishes that aren't spastic or overly fast moving that grow about 12".
