i was thinking of seting up a discus tank or maybe an angel tank

I was wondering how many discuss could i have in a 55 gallon standard?
also what kind of tank mates could i get with them?

i was thinking some barbs and maybe a hujeta gar?

I'd do 6 discus in that size tank. Do a lot of reading, and researching before you purchase one, and try to find a good local breeder in your area. Ditch the barbs and gars. Rummynoses are a good addition to discus.
