55 uk G stocking

sounds a little bit crowded though i think uk g are larger than us g so as long as you dont have a particular specimen that wants to pick on everyone else then you should be ok, and be careful what pleco you get as common plecos can get to 2ft and would be way to big for your tank (IME they also make more mess than the help with so if you are only getting a pleco to control algae/detritus then you might as well leave it out of the stocklist)
 
hey cheers for your advice ye its abit bigger it 63 g un us. and i have a clown pleco at the moment which only grows to about 4 inches or so. so do you think that stocking would be ok? anyone else?
 
How many dithers and what are they?

That's a nice collection of Cichlids but depending on each fishes personality you could end up with a war zone! I had a friend with a Salvini and it wanted to destroy everything!
 
i think your heading for trouble but some people are surprised by my stock list so it could work, nothings set in stone with cichlids.

if your tank is only 4ft long then the JD will eventually take up probably half that for itself if it survives as ive read that juvie JD's can be a push over.
this then pushes 3 rather aggressive cichlids into 2 ft of tank space.
jewels can be extremely aggressive, i had a 2" one that started a fight with a 7" (ish) midas within 5 minutes of being introduced to the tank.

if the JD reaches a decent size i think you will end up with 2 fish in the end, possibly 3 but thats doubtful. which one other than the JD im not sure.

just my opinion though.
 
thanks for the advice i have 2 jewels in there at the moment with 4 convicts and there all doing fine and there round the 4inch mark but im gonna give it ago and remove any that are to aggressive so i end up with 3 cichlids also how many tiger barbs do you think would be best to get?
