55g and single pickerel

im lookin into buying around a 55g tank and a single pickerel. not sure if i'll end up getting grass or red, but nonetheless, my questions are regarding the setup and management of the tank for this little guy.

i know lots of vegetation and cooler water temps are a must, however i am completely clueless about filtering and tank equipment and all that. and also about what is the best food for these fish.

any help, opinions, tips, or insight is greatly appreciated

i think the same filtration that u would put on any other tank should be fine but they like live food so ur gona need to breed some fish like cons so they can eat them.........

Don't need anything special for them as far as filtering goes.
But 55 won't be big enough for very long.
You could feed shiners from bait store

a 90 gallon might work. with two AC110 filters to keep it simple,

no heater

and some native plants..

how big do grass pickerel get? I know common pickerel/walleye get huge. I am thinking even a 90 won't work for much longer than a 55??
